12 Ways to Volunteer

There are a dozen ways to volunteer!

1. Class Visits

To visit classes during the school year and to speak with high school students about specific business-related topics: personal career journey; identifying the corporate culture; process demonstrations; industry overview. Demonstrations will include an interactive/demonstration portion in addition to a lecture.

2. Connecting the Dots Networking Event

"Connecting the Dots" is an hour long networking event where students and business partners network and share business cards. Volunteers can be individuals or a group such as professional organizations, associations, clubs groups. For more information, contact

3. Equipment Assessment, Donation and Demonstrations

Make a donation of equipment and supplies that will enhance students' functional knowledge of their career area. For more information, contact

4. Extreme Interview Expo

The Extreme Interview Expo is an annual 3 day event held in the spring at the Pennsylvania Convention Center where academy juniors participate in practice interviews with business partners. For more information, contact

5. Industry Panel

Expose students to a variety of career options and pathways to industry and into your company. For more information, contact

6. Industry Tour

Allow group of high school students to tour your company and interact with employees. The idea is to expose students to the all the different jobs it takes to operate a company. For more information, contact

7. Internship Opportunities

To supervise a paid work experience in which the student has intentional learning goals and reflects actively on what he or she is learning throughout the experience. For more information, contact

8. Judge

To bring your expertise and experience to the evaluation/critique of the students involved in senior projects, speech competitions or industry certifications examinations. For more information, contact

9. Professional Development for Teachers/Educator in the Work Place

Companies can assist in helping teachers stay current with new trends, equipment and certification. For more information, contact

10. Sponsorship

Though a financial donation you can; enable work experience for student as interns, assist in purchasing equipment or sponsor a field trip. For more information, contact Development (Development@academiesinc.org).

11. Spring Break Fundraiser
